Why we exist
The aim of la CyclO10C is to offer an innovative cycling challenge designed to test the physical and mental capacities of the participant, while at the same time enabling him or her to discover the cultural and tourist wealth of the Munster Valley and, more generally, the Vosges Massif and Alsace.
This is not a cycle race but a series of permanent routes. As such, no rankings are published.
La CyclO10C designs and sells cycling routes to the Participant and sets the conditions for their implementation (see 3), but leaves it up to the Participant to organise his or her own cycling.
Itinerary
The Participant is invited to follow the route of one of la CyclO10C routes defined as follows :
Objective of Fixed Routes :
Follow the track transmitted by la CyclO10C from the start to the finish by climbing the 10 climbs listed below in the order given.
Objective of Random Routes :
Reach the summit of the 10 climbs below by tracing your own route from a given starting point (Turckheim). Each summit is a checkpoint, a compulsory point of passage that must be reached by the Participant. The aim is not to climb all 10 climbs, but to reach the summit.
The originality of these routes lies in the fact that the Participant must reach the summit of the first 7 climbs in a random order given by CyclO10C by e-mail after validation of the registration. The Participant finishes the chosen route with summits 8, 9 and 10 in that order.
All the routes follow a common itinerary featuring the following 10 climbs:
These 10 climbs must be completed in the order indicated in the table above, except for the random routes, where the order of the first 7 climbs will be random.
The Participant has the right to leave the route to eat or for any other reason. The important thing is to pick up where you left off.
2.1) Specificity of fixed route « La Classique »
The start of this route is in Turckheim (68230) - Place de la République.
The finish is at the top of the Col du Platzerwasel (68380).

2.2) Specificity of fixed route « L’Epique »
The start and finish of this route are located in Turckheim (68230) - Place de la République.
In detail, the Participant will follow the ‘La Classique’ route and then return to the starting point via the return route provided by this route.
He will pass the points of interest below in the following order:
La Markstein
The Noble Valley
The Vineyard.
2.3) Specificity of random route « La Colossale »
The start of this route is in Turckheim (68230) - Place de la République.
The finish is at the top of the Col du Platzerwasel (68380).
The Participant may use any type of path to map out their route. They are not obliged to follow tarmac roads, but can follow gravel or mountain bike tracks, for example.

3.a) Security
Each Participant undertakes to comply with the Highway Code and the prefectoral and municipal by-laws in force on the date on which they complete their route.
La CyclO10C strongly recommends that Participants equip themselves with the following items:
Approved helmet (CE standard)
Sunglasses/photochromic glasses
Front and rear lights
GPS computer with downloaded track of chosen route and charged battery
Repair kit (multi-tools, inner tubes, patches, tyre levers, hand pump)

Survival blanket
Water supply (2x500ml minimum)
Food reserve
Rain jacket / Windbreaker
High-visibility waistcoat
Identity card / Social Security number / Bank card / Cash (€)
La CyclO10C alerts the Participant to weather conditions. Wind, cold, rain, snow or high temperatures should be taken into serious consideration before setting out on the route: it is preferable to adapt and change the day of departure if the weather is not favourable.
As a challenge, the CyclO10C represents a real challenge in the mountains. The weather can be particularly changeable from one pass to another, from the foot of the mountain or from the summit.
In addition to the e-mail confirming their registration, each Participant receives a supplementary e-mail containing a list of contact telephone numbers to call in the event of an emergency. This includes the telephone number of the CyclO10C Security HQ.
3.b) Insurance
It is compulsory for the Participant to be covered by civil liability insurance: they must make a declaration to this effect on their honour in order to validate their registration.
Through its partnership with ASSUR CONNECT, CyclO10C offers the Participant, as an option, an insurance policy that provides protection during the challenge. This insurance offers cover against any damage the Participant may suffer. The optional subscription to this insurance is made at the time of registration via a web page dedicated specifically to the general conditions and cover offered by ASSUR CONNECT.
Insurance in the event of injury during training and competition, medical expenses, civil liability, search and rescue expenses, repatriation assistance with BESAFE. We strongly advise you to take out the insurance offered by our partner ASSUR CONNECT, specially designed for you. Find out more and take out the policy here!
3.c) Responsability
The Participant is solely responsible for choosing the date of his departure. The Participant committing to these routes is fully aware of the difficulty of the challenge and feels sufficiently trained to complete it.
The routes are proposed for guidance only. The Participant may have to adapt his or her route to particular circumstances that could prevent passage along the proposed route (roadworks, for example).
At the time of registration, the Participant accepts unreservedly and irrevocably all the risks of the event and in particular any accident that could even result in the death of the Participant, and undertakes to bear sole responsibility for any type of damage that he may be the author of or the victim of as a result of his participation in the event.
The Participant agrees to take part in the event at his own risk and peril, and to assess his own risks.
The Participant is informed that the route(s) may cross protected areas such as Natura 2000 areas, forest estates managed by the ONF and/or the PNR. Participants must therefore respect the environment by minimising noise and light pollution and managing their waste. The preservation of biodiversity is essential, and each Participant is responsible for his or her impact on the ecosystems crossed.
By accepting all the risks of this particularly dangerous event, the Participant agrees, in full knowledge of the facts and of the possible consequences, to release la CyclO10C from all liability in tort and/or in contract.
3.d) Dates
All the routes proposed by CyclO10C are permanent.
Participants are solely responsible for choosing their departure date .
The Participant is free to plan his route on the date of his/her choice between 1st April and 31st October inclusive of each year, the dates on which the routes are open to cyclists.
If the Participant completes one or more of the routes outside these dates, no approval will be issued by la CyclO10C.
However, temporary decisions may intervene between these dates and modify them (e.g. exceptional snow event in April leading to the closure of certain roads on one or more of the routes).
The Participant is invited to check the condition of the roads before taking part in the challenge.
3.e) Autonomy
During the challenge, the Participant is totally autonomous, with no external assistance (following car, motorised assistance, roadside refreshments). Participants are invited to eat on their own, as la CyclO10C does not provide any refreshments along the route. Similarly, no refreshments will be provided at the start or finish of any route.
The Munster Valley is well equipped for cycling and tourism in general. Participants will easily find enough to eat, drink and rest along the various routes. In the mountains, some farmhouse inns and snack bars refuse payment by credit card below a certain amount. Participants are therefore advised to bring cash with them in order to be able to eat.
3.f) Time objective – Grade
The Participant may complete the route of his/her choice in a maximum of 24h00 or 48h00, breaks included.
The Participant is free to set the start time of their choice, with the time counting down from the chosen time.
If the Participant completes his/her challenge in a maximum of 24h00, his/her achievement will be awarded the rank of ‘Daredevil’.
If the Participant completes the challenge in no more than 48 hours, their achievement will be awarded the grade of ‘Courageous’.
During the course of the crossing, the Participant has the option of modifying the time objective initially chosen when registering.
For example, the Participant may decide to complete the route in 48h00 when he had initially chosen to complete it in 24h00, or vice versa. Their achievement will then be recognised as ‘Courageous’ and not ‘Daredevil’.
Registration - Rate
Registrations are open all year round.
Each registration is valid for one year from the date of payment (date to date).
The Participant is invited to register directly on the Sporkrono partner website. They choose one or more of the following routes:
For each registration, 1/6th of the above price is donated to the APITERRE Association (bee conservation).
Once registration has been validated and payment has been made, the Participant will receive the route chosen in .gpx format by e-mail. The specific purpose of these tracks is to enable the Participant to complete la CyclO10C challenge. As the creator of the tracks, la CyclO10C is and remains the exclusive owner of these tracks, even after they have been distributed to the Participant. The sharing, dissemination or commercial distribution of the tracks transmitted by la CyclO10C is strictly forbidden. Anyone committing such acts will be liable to prosecution by la CyclO10C.
Specific terms and conditions for enrolment on Random Routes :
The Participant registers and accepts that la CyclO10C will transmit a random order of the first 7 summits to be reached.
The Participant undertakes to respect the order transmitted by la CyclO10C in order to obtain approval for the challenge. If the Participant does not respect the order transmitted by la CyclO10C, the challenge will not be homologated and the Participant will not be entitled to the homologation diploma or to be entered in the Hall Of Fame.
Specific arrangements for multiple registrations (Group) :
La CyclO10C can be ridden alone, or in groups of two, three or four participants maximum. However, registrations and homologations are individual. When registering, the Participant must state whether he is doing the challenge alone or in a group. If he is doing it as part of a group, the Participant must write down the surname(s) and first name(s) of his fellow Participant(s). To be valid, all the Participants in the group must be registered individually before the date of the challenge they set and complete the same route with the same time objective (see 3.e).
Approval
The Participant has one year from the date of the payment validating his registration to complete the chosen course. If he completes the course after this deadline, certification will not be possible.
Once the challenge has been completed, the Participant is invited to request the certification of their route by sending the Strava or Garmin link of their track by email to la CyclO10C at lacyclo10c@gmail.com.
At the same time, the Participant must send photos taken at emblematic points along the route by e-mail to the following address: lacyclo10c@gmail.com:
These photos allow the Participant to admire the highlights of the route and to keep a souvenir of their epic journey. They are provided to CyclO10C for information purposes at the time of homologation. Failure to take photos of all the emblematic sites is not a reason for refusal, but the Participant undertakes to do so.
Once checked, the Participant will be given a unique homologation number.
Specific procedures for group approval :
Each Participant must register his challenge individually. The Participant must provide the surname(s) and first name(s) of his classmate(s) if the challenge was carried out as part of a group.
Awards
6.a) Personalised electronic diploma
Once the Participant has completed the course in accordance with the conditions for completion (see 3) and certification (see 5), he will receive a personalised electronic diploma containing the following information :

No time classification will be established by CyclO10C. As a reminder, CyclO10C is not a race but a permanent cycle ride.
Now it's time to go and plant the seed of your tree.
It's up to you, you hold all the cards!
Have a good trip!
